The 2010 Nee Soon South countdown concert sets the stage to offer 10,000 Singaporeans a platform to bond and celebrate the 2010. Sparkle On Nee Soon South (NSS) is a not-for-profit concert showcasing the best of local talent held on December 31, 2009, from 8.30pm – 12.30am, at the open field opposite Khatib MRT station.

This year, the organizers have decided to waive all entrance charges and participants can attend the designed-by-community-for-community concert for free.

“We know that Singaporeans have been through a lot this year, and we want them to enjoy the Countdown. We want spread a message of hope for a better year ahead. We have decided to keep this year’s countdown concert free, so that Singaporeans can enjoy a night of quality entertainment and bring along with them their family and friends without having to worry about ticketing fees” said Er. Lee Bee Wah, Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio GRC and Advisor to Nee Soon South Grassroots Organisations.

The event aims to deliver a message of Hope, a notion that resonates with Singaporeans can relate to because of the improving economy and H1N1 situation over the year.

The Concert will take on a ‘made-in-Singapore’ concept and will feature the best of Singapore’s talents. Audiences can expect familiar local artistes that will join them as they enter into 2010 together.

Building on the success of the inaugural concert last year, Sparkle On NSS continues to encourage stronger family and community bonds. The event attracted over 8,000 participants last year, including Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who joined the crowd in counting down to the New Year.

rantings about idiotic people.

(okay, i know that im not how smart either, but read it and you will understand)

Rantings…

i’m really pissed today, firstly, don’t ever think that i’m easily cheated, defeated or will give in to you always, do not take it for granted. bear this in mind.

went to the bank today to cash out some money, guess what? while i was lining up, these selfish people, would just walk to the place they want, convenient for them, and just right infront of me, and will just say, excuse me! wth. you think just by saying excuse me will work? maybe its normal to give way, so i did.

and some, the worse case of all, they don’t say excuse me, they will squeeze thru’ it to get to the other side. what is this? is that what your parents, teachers, or even ancestors teach you? no freaking manners. and if i dont give way, i think the lady infront will think that i touched her or something.

its not only aunties who do it, its freaking grown ups, and kids. lets not blame the aunties and kids. freaking grown ups, please use your freaking brains.

now, till the climax that hit the roof of mine, you know this? and they actually gave me some lousy customer service, waiting for so long.

YES. i had used my freaking brains, thinking that they might respond, since they responded to the rest, and thinking it this way, so i tweeted on twitter, and thinking that they will respond to my tweets. so foolishly waited, and no responses after a week.

so i called them up, everytime, i will have to wait…. previously, i called them up to activate a service, so i have to call them right? there is no other way to do that. so waited, and wasted my time. in the end, luckily, i got a pleasant guy who picked up that call, and resolve my issue, otherwise, he will sure to get it from me.

then today, was a lady who seems to be blur, by saying, “erm, ah, oh”. like that? so every moment when i was on the phone, i was like. “gahhhhhh!” angry! so yeah, then i was really pissed off, and started complaining big time on the phone about the bills.

one more time if they do this, i might just simply switch to the other corals.

Bad news! Microsoft Word sale prohibited as of Jan. 11, fix promised.

Word 2007

total bad news. you guys should read this report! this means that Office 2010 might be delayed. :(

Office workers of America, enjoy your Christmas break. Because come the new year, things could get a little hairy around the office. Microsoft Word is now scheduled to be prohibited from sale beginning January 11, 2010. That’s less than three weeks away. The good news: Microsoft has promised a fix, one which will be rolled out before the deadline arrives.

If you don’t understand, you might have simply missed this story, or dismissed it as something that Microsoft would ultimately use its considerable clout to have pushed under a legal rug.

But it’s no joke. In August of this year, a court sided with a small Canadian company called i4i that holds a 1998 patent on the way the XML language is implemented, finding that Microsoft was in violation of that patent. The result: Microsoft was told to license the code in question from i4i or reprogram it, or else Microsoft Word would have to be removed from sale in the market. The original ruling gave Microsoft until October to get its legal affairs in order, but appeals pushed that out a bit.

Now a federal court has upheld that original ruling — plus a fat, $290 million judgment against the company — imposing the new January 11 D-Day on the matter. Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office will both be barred from sale as of that date — though naturally you’ll still be able to use copies of Word and Office that you already own, and Microsoft will be allowed to keep supporting those copies.

Unless Microsoft ships the promised technical workaround very quickly, things are going to get extremely dicey in the computer world, and fast. Not only will retail outlets selling shrinkwrapped copies of the software be affected, computer manufacturers (who complained loudly about this injunction when it was announced) who bundle Word and Office on the computers they sell will also be seriously impacted by the ruling.

There’s always a chance things will change again as the January 11 deadline approaches, but if your company requires Word or Office to keep operations running, it might not be a bad idea to stock up on a few extra copies now.

Old Dogs Movie – Coming Soon…

Old Dogs

Old Dogs

Details of Movie – Sypnosis

Two best friends — one unlucky-in-love divorcee (ROBIN WILLIAMS) and the other a fun-loving bachelor (JOHN TRAVOLTA) — have their lives turned upside down when they’re unexpectedly charged with the care of six-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives.  The not-so-kid-savvy bachelors stumble in their efforts to take care of the twins (newcomers ELLA BLEU TRAVOLTA and CONNER RAYBURN), leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to a new-found understanding of what’s really important in life.

Haha! Hilarious, look at the video clip above, and you know OMG! lol.

kena whack at the dick, while that guy plays golf (wrongly). haha. :D

remember, Old Dogs opens in cinema 31 Dec 2009, which might be a great show to catch during the new year!

Office 2010 Sneak Preview by SPIC!~

MS Office 2010 SPIC

Office 2010 Sneak Preview
brought to you by SPIC

Office 2010 Sneak PreviewOffice 2010

went back to SP today to attend SPIC’s Office 2010 Sneak Preview to see whats the major improvements for the office applications. :)

So, are you still using Office 2003 and lagging behind the rest who can make compelling communication through files created using Office 2007? Time to make a move… or rather ahead of Office 2007.

Welcome to the Office 2010 beta.

Now you can catch a glimpse of the refined user experience and better productivity experience that everyone else can expect to touch it next year.

Now.. Reviewing Microsoft 2010

Looking into Office 2010, the file menu is totally different from 97 – 2003, and even the latest 2007 that is out in the market. It still uses Ribbons, but there is quite a number of UI enhancements, which made it different, as well as the implementation of Backstage View in 2010.

Confirmed features of Office 2010 include:

  • Refined Ribbon interface and Backstage View across all applications
  • Background Removal Tool
  • Letter Styling
  • New SmartArt templates
  • New text and image editing effects
  • Screen Capturing and Clipping tools
  • Live collaboration functions
  • Jumplists in Windows 7

In Powerpoint 2010, it has been changed quite alot, with new themes of course, plus new transitions, which made it near, and similar to Mac iWork Suite’s KeyNote.

With these, I’m pretty sure Office 2010 will be doing well if the production is done smoothly, with no bugs or errors hindering it.

We could see from the launch of Windows 7, and Office 2010 Beta, Microsoft has been trying to improve its so called ‘laggy’ operating system and office applications, to a all new experience for the users.

so yeah. then the show started…

Avatar 3D Movie

Avatar 3D Movie

and the show ended! LOL! thats just not right! hahas, movie review….

Background Info

Avatar  is the much-hyped and much-anticipated return of James Cameron as director of a major feature film after an extended hiatus — he has not directed one since 1997’s Titanic. During that time he focused on documentary filmmaking, a couple of television shows and he helped develop the digital 3-D Fusion Camera System, a technology he used to film Avatar.

We enter the alien world through the eyes of Jake Sully, a former Marine confined to a wheelchair. But despite his broken body, Jake is still a warrior at heart. He is recruited to travel light years to the human outpost on Pandora, where corporations are mining a rare mineral that is the key to solving Earth’s energy crisis. Because the atmosphere of Pandora is toxic, they have created the Avatar Program, in which human “drivers” have their consciousness linked to an avatar, a remotely-controlled biological body that can survive in the lethal air. These avatars are genetically engineered hybrids of human DNA mixed with DNA from the natives of Pandora… the Na’vi.

Reborn in his avatar form, Jake can walk again. He is given a mission to infiltrate the Na’vi, who have become a major obstacle to mining the precious ore. But a beautiful Na’vi female, Neytiri, saves Jake’s life, and this changes everything. Jake is taken in by her clan, and learns to become one of them, which involves many tests and adventures. As Jake’s relationship with his reluctant teacher Neytiri deepens, he learns to respect the Na’vi way and finally takes his place among them. Soon he will face the ultimate test as he leads them in an epic battle that will decide nothing less than the fate of an entire world.

Review

The movie was excellent, in terms of visual effects, storyline, and they way they defeated those “sky people” :D i like the way how Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) together with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) kill that freaking “evil” general.

Na’vi the clan (a.k.a. the blue people) in the movie was really realistic, it seems to be so real, that they aren’t alien like shrek or planet 51, but its seems so real that if i didn’t know that it was animation, i would just treat them like another species of mankind.

Unlike normal digital animations, or 3D design of the characters, Avatar has exceeded expectations of mine in creating such realistic characters of the Na’vi culture.

However, there were some small flaws, the starting part of the movie when there were alot of movement (running) scenes in it, which resulted in the movie to have blurry scenes and caused some headaches in me, seems to also be damn painful for the eyes.

Overall, the movie was great, exciting, and outstanding,. I really enjoyed Avatar the movie, and urge all readers to watch it. It is a movie ticket spent worthwhile for a outstanding show. (especially with 3D!)

Ratings from Titanium: ?????????? (8 out of 10)

after the movie, went to the foodcourt and had claypot rice. :D seems to be good also. then the rest head back home, while i went to pick my girlfriend at orchard after work! :D

thats all for the day!
